Keeping an aquarium is an enjoyable hobby. However, if not regularly maintained, an aquarium can be very time-consuming, backbreaking and very expensive to clean and look after. The key to efficiently maintain an aquarium is to keep an eye on all the details involved once every week. The most important factor in aquarium maintenance is regulating tank conditions. Water level balance, uniformity of water temperature and feeding constancy will play very critical roles in the survival of your fishes. If every accessory is functioning properly, the most hard work you will need to do is changing the water. A water change will need to be carried out every 2 weeks. Replacing the water will get rid of food residues and other deposits that have mixed in with the gravel or have settled in the bottom of the tank. Checking the water chemistry will also need to be performed after every water change. A pH stability of 6.5-7.5 must be achieved to complement any kind of fish species. Keeping an aquarium is likewise a responsibility. Fish are living creatures after all; therefore they deserve our best care and attention as well.
